Are you interested in a rare, totally unique,
one of a kind, piece of Maya art for your home or office?
Pictured
below is an example: this is a 5' x 26" x 2" thick piece of solid
Honduran mahogany that has been carved into a wall panel.
(Coffee tables are also offered) Click on the picture to see
an enlargement. It was done exclusively by hand, using only
steel chisels and knives.
Here is how it works: Serious clients
may
request patterns. Each pattern will be taken from a
photograph of the actual artifact (stelae or altar). No less
than ten motifs will be sent to you. Once a pattern is
chosen, that will be the only carving of its kind! A price
will be established, and after certain conditions are met (prices
will vary according to the detail involved), your exclusive carving
will begin.
Because of the time consuming meticulousness of
the work, it will take six to nine month for delivery. The
client will pay shipping costs according to the weight of the
carving and the distance it will be shipped. - Again,
due to the time involved, only one such work will be done each
year. The artist's signature and date will be deeply carved
on the back of each piece.
