Considered by many to be the finest example of Maya art to ever have been
found.
The altar shows two elaborately garbed figures conferring
behind an altar piled with
bones and a skull. the figure on the left
holds a flint "chest opener" while the one
on the right grasps a flint
knife. The dedicatory date on the accompanying stela is AD 711.
